Robynn Murray was an all-American high-school cheerleader who became the poster girl for women in combat. But since returning from Iraq, she has fought an insidious foe: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This Oscar-nominated documentary short follows Robynn over the course of two years as she embarks on a journey of self-discovery and redemption through art and poetry.
Sara Nesson is a 2011 Academy Award nominated director and winner of the International Documentary Association (IDA) Best Documentary Short for Poster Girl. Sara is currently directing a 12-episode web series for Bonnaroo Music Festival in partnership with YouTube and is in development on a narrative feature as well as other commercial projects. Sara is on the advisory board for Warrior Writers. She is the founder of Portrayal Films, based in Brooklyn, NY. Poster Girl recently traveled to Havana, Cuba to participate in the Young Directors Festival "Muestra Joven" co-sponsored by MoMa and American Media Initiative. It is the first time an American film, along with three others, was invited to screen in Havana.
